Hardcover ì Bonnard MOBI Ñ bonnard ebok, Bonnard KindleI`m lucky I got the hardback edition of this while it was still available as it is one of my most used reference booksBecause of his longevity it's often overlooked that Bonnard was a contemporary of Toulouse Lautrec and that he had a hand in the print making and book illustrations that characterised the 1890s as a member of Les Nabis he and Vuillard became a kind of sub set of the group known as “intimiste” painters their work characterised by their domestic interiors still lifes and close value brush strokes of vivid colourBonnard developed an approach to painting from memory using small drawings and occasionally photographs – a technique that enabled a imaginative personal realisation of his subjectsPicasso didn't understand him – so it's nice to know that the great Pablo was fallible – for me Bonnard is one of the most important painters of the last century and has much to teach painters in this oneWatkins` book presents a fairly good comprehensive biograph

Hardcover ì Bonnard MOBI Ñ bonnard ebok, Bonnard KindleThe scope of work presented in this book is very wide and complete the ratio of text to pictures is very satisfying and the pictures themselves are nice and large However the quality of the reproductions has not impressed me at all the colors that Bonnard is so famous for are washed out and the prints appear blurry Allover a rather disappointing book
